Recently, the comprehensive upgrade of multiple buildings within a large food enterprise campus, designed by Gensler and constructed by PPCG, has been successfully completed.

This project goes beyond a simple renovation of individual office spaces, representing instead an in-depth reorganization and holistic enhancement of the campus's overall functionality.Collaborating closely with the design team, the client adopted a strategic approach to evaluate existing campus resources, thoroughly considering the intrinsic needs and potential synergies among diverse functions such as office operations, administration, marketing, and dining services. As a result, previously dispersed standalone structures have been integrated into an efficiently interconnected work-life community, achieving a comprehensive transition from isolated spaces to a cohesive campus ecosystem.

Brand Signature

Contemporary Translation of Industrial Aesthetics

Unlike traditional commercial design projects that often prioritize overt "luxury" or "fashion," this project demonstrates a deep understanding of the client's industrial heritage and technological identity. Adopting a strategy of "light construction, heavy decoration," it avoids major alterations to the original spatial structure. Instead, the design breathes new life into the existing space through meticulous attention to detail and the strategic application of materials.

Continuity of the Historical Fabric：

Of the existing concrete columns on-site, the PPCG team—guided by the client's vision—opted not to conceal them. Instead, they carefully ground and refined the surfaces, preserving the drill marks and textured patina acquired over time. These elements, bearing witness to the passage of years, silently narrate the brand's evolution and profound heritage, creating a continuous dialogue between past and future while presenting a visually compelling interplay of time.

The Ordered Beauty of a Revealed Ceiling：

To preserve the industrial character of the raw space, the project extensively features an exposed ceiling. Through close collaboration with the client, the PPCG team arranged and installed the overhead pipelines with near-artistic symmetry. This approach transformed what could have been a chaotic web of utilities into a distinctive visual element that showcases the beauty of industrial order, rather than a mere visual distraction.

A Continuous Flow of Flooring：

The main areas—including office, administrative, and marketing buildings—feature cast-in-place terrazzo flooring. This approach not only ensures a continuous and visually cohesive flow throughout the campus but also delivers the durability and easy maintenance required for high-traffic workplace environments.

Technology-Enabled

BIM Marries Art in Steel

Within the administration building, a fully cantilevered steel staircase stands out as the defining feature of the entire project. With no vertical supports, the structure relies entirely on the inherent stability of the steel framework and precise mechanical calculations for balance and anchorage, representing a significant construction challenge.

The PPCG team leveraged Building Information Modeling (BIM) throughout both the design and construction phases. Utilizing BIM's capabilities for visualization and data simulation, the team accurately calculated and optimized every structural node. This approach not only ensured the precise realization of the complex form while maintaining structural integrity but also achieved seamless integration with surrounding utilities and building interfaces.

The completed steel staircase not only reshapes the spatial flow with its sharp lines and powerful presence, establishing a three-dimensional circulation network, but also—through its distinct industrial artistry—becomes a vivid embodiment of the company's technological prowess and steadfast spirit. It stands as a perfect fusion of technology and art, function and aesthetics.

Warm Meal Times

A Vibrant Dining Hub Nourishing the Campus Life

As a campus-based enterprise, the company benefits from a dedicated, standalone dining facility. Its design thoughtfully accommodates the multi-faceted needs of both employees and visitors, establishing it as a vital amenity that nourishes the daily rhythm of campus life.

The dining space is strategically zoned into three distinct areas: the Staff Canteen, the Sunlit Restaurant, and Private Rooms. The Staff Canteen is designed for efficient meals during busy workdays and includes an adjacent coffee lounge for casual breaks. In contrast, the Sunlit Restaurant offers a more relaxed and uplifting ambiance. The Private Rooms, furnished with tea tables, sofas, and art pieces, incorporate residential design elements to evoke a warm, homely atmosphere—ensuring that even formal business dinners make every guest feel truly welcome.

This diversified portfolio of dining environments comprehensively addresses the full spectrum of needs, from quick casual meals to high-end business entertainment. More importantly, it infuses the daily rhythm of the campus with a palpable sense of warmth and vitality.

Efficient Execution

Speed and Sustainability, Without Compromise

As a renovation project, this program was subject to a strict timeline, with the client prioritizing a swift post-completion move-in. The PPCG team fully understood this imperative and committed to accelerating the project schedule without compromising on quality.

To minimize indoor air pollution and safeguard occupant health, the team enforced a rigorous material selection process. Eco-friendly options, such as latex paint, were extensively adopted in lieu of conventional wood finishes and lacquer boards, significantly reducing potential contaminants. Upon handover, the site was notably free of pungent odors. This—coupled with the existing abundance of ventilation windows—enabled rapid air purification, providing a solid guarantee for the client's timely occupancy.

The successful delivery of this project fully demonstrates PPCG's systematic service capabilities in the realm of campus-level commercial interior construction. It has not only created a modern workplace community that integrates efficient operations, brand presentation, and human-centric care for the enterprise but has also profoundly interpreted its core values and spiritual ethos through the language of space.
